I am Julia.
I help support people in their search for the authentic part of themselves. My practice offers counselling, mindfulness, sound, creativity, compassion, humour and connection.
A qualified and experienced Person Centred Counsellor and therapist and I work in private practice in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. I have a background in physical therapy, and an interest in self care.
~A member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), The College of Sound Healing and a Breathworks trained and qualified Mindfulness Teacher.
~Extensive work with mindfulness, working with clients in both the corportate and private sectors with an in depth understanding of the effect of life and work pressures.
~Bereavement training with Cruse.
~Experience and training working with Trauma and Domestic and Sexual Abuse
~Over 20 years experience with massage and cranio sacral therapy working with clients suffering with pain, stress and anxiety.
~Previous work as an Adult Education Teacher for Bucks County Council, delivering meditation and relaxation retreats and running short courses for MIND the mental health charity
~Passionate about learning, taking part in regular continuing professional development, supervision and peer group review meetings (all within the boundaries of client contracted confidentiality)
When I'm not working?
I enjoy spending time in nature, exploring art and poetry - as well as seeing what new sounds I can create with my gongs. Elsewhere, my liife is food, colours, friends, family, joy and being in the moment.
Life can be challenging, but you don't need to struggle on your own.
It can take a great deal of courage to ask for help. If you are reading this, then something inside you has already shifted.
We all have an inner wisdom that know who we are, that wants the best for us and can help us heal and grow. It's not always easy to connect to this wisdom. We become stuck. We lose direction. At times like these, it can be helpful to invite someone to help us explore our feelings and help us reconnect with what we hold in our hearts, bodies and minds.
